The Word of God should be shared everywhere, throughout the entire nation and to all generations.
On Saturday, 29th April 2026, we visited the Bufula Church of Christ in Jinja District, Busoga Region. The leadership of the church, with the help of women leaders Hope Kiwanuka and Wandodwa Naume, organized a seminar for Sunday School teachers from three congregations. The mission was to train them how to use “GCM Farming for Jesus” kids curriculum to teach the children the word of God.
Both teachers and children were invited, and indeed, I believe our Sunday School will not remain the same. The training lasted for five hours, with twenty ladies participating, along with the children from Bufula Church.
We covered the process of teaching the children, and after the theoretical session, we did a demonstrations and practice. Just like adults, the teacher also needs to inquire about the kid’s highs, lows, breakthroughs, and challenges from the previous week before introducing a new lesson. The teacher should also sing songs and make fun with the children.
We understand that every lesson incorporates a Sword Method discovery Bible study, which is an aspect that our teachers have not been consistently emphasizing. We also trained them that after teaching children a Bible story, the teacher should also ask them four questions (based on the Sword Method). Then, some children should come forward and share with the class what they have learned.
lastly but not least, teachers must be familiar with the three circles and the relational map. Children should be encouraged to practice the 15-second story technique.
After going through the curriculum, we did a demonstration, practicing with the children. They enjoyed coloring and drawing. Some enjoyed retelling the Bible story we had read.
I believe that our churches will not remain the same. Our children will be empowered with the Word, and the Gospel will be preached to the very end of the earth.
Thanks and be blessed.
Maximillah.
