Comments: Leadership by position vs. by service

The lesson teaches that true leadership does not depend on a position or authority, but on serving and developing people.

The leader by position tends to control, impose, generate fear, look for scapegoats and say "I", while the servant leader empowers, inspires, works as a team, restores, models and says "we".

The central teaching is that control produces resistance and distance, but service produces trust, commitment, unity and willingness. Therefore, the mentor must lead by example, love and service, not seeking lordship over others.

"Not as having a lord over those who are under you, but as examples of the grey." — 1 Peter 5:3
