KENYA 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP AND CHURCH MULTIPLICATION KIDS TRAINING
Reported by Brother Tom.
Kenya 4 Fields Disciple Multiplication Ministry – reports about our engagement with Neema Kids near Sondu Miriu River. It was a fulfilling experience with Deaf kids.
Today marked a deeply moving and strategic moment for the Kenya 4 Fields Disciple Multiplication Ministry as it was our turn to serve Neema Kids, a community of 38 Deaf children together with their interpreter, located near the Sondu Miriu River.
We shared on God’s Big Vision—His heart for the nations—and introduced the Four (+1) Mission Fields that no disciple-maker can afford to ignore. What stood out powerfully was the clarity and eagerness with which the Deaf children grasped Disciple Multiplication concepts. Their ability to capture, process, and respond to the teaching was truly inspiring and humbling. It reminded us again that the Gospel is not limited by language, hearing ability, or circumstance—God’s Spirit communicates beyond barriers.
Together with Lucas, Gordon, Julius and Wycliffe, we have committed ourselves to intentionally and consistently sharing Jesus Christ with these children until all the 38 Deaf kids and their 12 teachers open their hearts and lives fully to Christ. As a next step, we plan to meet once every week for a Sword Method Bible Study, trusting God to establish them firmly in His Word and in obedient discipleship.
After the lesson, each Deaf child received a shirt. It was a small gesture, yet it carried deep meaning. When we arrived, the children looked at us with hope, expecting perhaps food supplies. The long dry season across many parts of Kenya has made access to food increasingly difficult, and upon enquiry, we learned that food is a critical need for these children. Though we were only able to provide clothing, we were humbled and grateful that they received it with joy. This encounter has stirred our hearts to be more prayerful and intentional about holistic ministry—word and deed together.
We have promised to continue sharing Disciple Multiplication tools with Neema Kids, trusting God for transformation that goes beyond lessons into lived-out faith. Our earnest prayer is that a church will be born here—a worshiping, discipling, and multiplying community of believers among the Deaf, to the glory of God.
We thank God for allowing us to participate, even in a small way, in what He is already doing among Neema Kids. We invite partners and prayer warriors to stand with us as we pursue this work with faith, compassion, and perseverance.
To God be the glory for His work among the least reached.
Blessings,
Tom Opondo.
