Jesus, the one who receives and eats with sinners.

Jesus, the one who receives and eats with sinners. Luke 15:2. Jesus’ love for the lost was so great that He was willing not only to eat with sinners, but also to die for them on the cross. John 15:13.

Jesus ate enthusiastically with sinners on earth because he longs to eat with them in heaven.

The Pharisees were obsessed with the law and ritual sacrifices to God, but because of the cross, Christians should rather be obsessed with sacrifices of love for others, doing whatever it takes to reach them with Jesus’ message of hope.

And doing whatever it takes means that perhaps we should lay aside some rigid methods that we have used in the past to simply communicate, relate and eat with the lost, following in the footsteps of the Master.
