CMN AND THE 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP MULTIPLICATION TRAINING IN MALABO, EQUATORIAL GUINEA

CMN AND THE 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP MULTIPLICATION TRAINING IN MALABO, EQUATORIAL GUINEA

Reported by brother Charles.

”Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:18-20).

The population of Equatorial Guinea is as of 2025 is 1.94M. However, Malabo, the capital, an island within the Gulf of Guinea, has a population of about 800,000. Malabo used to be called Fernando Pô, the very island from which Tetteh Quarshie brought Cocoa to Ghana.

The Lord’s church started here at Malabo in 2001 by a Nigerian missionary - Brother Etuk. Faced with numerous challenges and frustrations, Brother Etuk abandoned the work and returned to Nigeria until Brothers Douglas Boateng and Willie Gley of the Continental Missions Network (CMN) came to the island in 2006. He returned upon the invitation of Brother Douglas Boateng to assist with the revival of the church.

The work still went through several challenges until Brother Eric Larweh was sent to the country as a missionary in 2018 by CMN.

Presently, there are 2 congregations on the island and 2 more in Bata (the mainland) However, these 4 congregations cannot boast of an average of 150 adult members in the whole country. The church has gone through several challenges here, but God is still in the hem of affairs.

I traveled here with Bishop Dr. Douglas Akuamoah Boateng (hc), on February 21, 2026, with the intention of encouraging the brethren and finding more opportunities for kingdom expansion in their “Jerusalem” and “Judea” - Malabo and the entire country, possibly.

We have been doing house-to-house visitation of brethren and prospects and training some core members with the 4 Fields Discipleship Multiplication tools. Brother Eric Larweh, the missionary, has been so helpful, roaming with us daily.

By God’s grace, two prospects he had earlier been studying with, put on Christ in baptism today - February 26, 2026. They are Brother Emmanuel Ekow Brew and Sister Irene Yahaya, both from Ghana.

God willing, the team intends to travel to Luba tomorrow to prospect the area to see what God might do there to expand the kingdom on the island.

The main challenge of the church here is that it is located in a capital with an extremely high cost of living. This makes the people concentrate more on their work than to go to church. Also, the church is more of foreigners than the indigenous people. As the foreigners move back to their countries, the church is always with new people.

As you pray to God on these challenges, kindly remember to pray for CCT, the sole company backing the church financially.

Thank God for all involved and with your prayer and financial support.

This is really great and encouraging work of the Lord you are all doing brother Charles, Douglas, Willie and the team across Equatorial Guinea. Amen and praise God, keep it up for Jesus! Thank You Lord and thank you all involved.
